Aspire Academy has continued to support the community of Hull in this very difficult year. Staff and students made a huge collection of groceries and toiletries to donate to a Hull foodbank operated by The Trussell Trust. This organisation helps those in need of emergency food in times of crisis.
This year, staff donated money instead of buying gifts for Secret Santa and sending Christmas cards. Tutor groups rallied around and brought in items from home. In addition, a BIG THANK YOU to Aldi who also gave their financial support.
Enough money was raised to fill two large shopping trolleys with essential items and, when added to the donations collected in the academy, a mountain of goods was donated to The Trussell Trust. A representative who came into collect the donations was overwhelmed at the generosity of students and staff and was most grateful for their kindness.
It is pleasing to know that the Academy will make a big difference to so many families at Christmas time and the end of this exceptionally difficult year.
