ASPIRE ACADEMY IS PART OF

Provision for Mainstream Students

Aspire offers a range of support programmes for mainstream school students to commission. Our current offer includes:
The Regulate Room
The Relate Room

Day Provision

The Regulate Room – The Regulate provision is for students with an EHCP and can be used, by mainstream colleagues, for students as a short term alternative to exclusion (maximum 5 consecutive days). It is an opportunity for students to reset and regulate. Students have access to a wide range of support including ELSAs, THRIVE trained practitioners, Trauma aware and trained practitioners, AET (Autism Education Training) specialists. They work in a supportive environment, to assist them in better managing themselves through addressing and accepting the barriers to learning head on and working, over time, to identify approaches, strategies and interventions for both students and schools to deploy. A maximum of 6 students will be in this group on any one day.  Protective factors are in place and all sessions incorporate Reflect to promote emotional awareness and to enable safe opportunities to explore the concept of blame, fault and guilt.

To access commissioning for Regulate or Relate, or for more advice and guidance on student suitability, please contact Mrs E. Davidson-Lane at Aspire by calling 01482 318789 or email e.davidson@asp.hslt.academy

The Relate Room -The programme aim is to help students with complex needs understand themselves, their behaviours and the world around them better. The Relate Room may be suitable for students often referred to as ‘nurture’ students. A PACE approach is in place and the provision is particularly beneficial for students demonstrating behaviours as a result of Anxious Attachment and Avoidant Attachment. Attachment play features, alongside crucial skills and relational activities and interventions.  The Relate Room cohort will vary according to the need. This can run as a full-time 6 week placement; it has also run as a longer placement for 2 days per week. This can be commissioned as a full group per school. It can also be commissioned as individual places in a mixed school setting. Protective factors are in place and all sessions incorporate Reflect to promote emotional awareness and to enable safe opportunities to explore the concept of blame, fault and guilt.
