To mark the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, Aspire Academy decided to host their own street party before the half-term break. So, Thursday saw all hands on deck to prepare for the occasion…
First came the bunting. Working in tutor groups, students were challenged to create the longest quality bunting and also the best designed. Next, each group created a collage of the Queen’s head from newspapers and magazines. Throughout the day, tutor groups worked with our King of Cooking to prepare the fare for the picnic. A music challenge tested students’ knowledge of National Anthems from various parts of the world, then telegrams to the Queen were written to congratulate her on her 70 year reign. Finally, students had the opportunity to fashion outfits fit for a queen and model them on the catwalk.
It was an action-packed day and, as it drew to a close, all preparations had been well executed to guarantee a happy and glorious celebration on Friday!
