On Monday 13 January, students at the Wingfield site were very proud to donate to their chosen charity the money raised at their Christmas market. The founder of Abbie’s Fund, Abbie’s mother, gratefully received the £148 raised and explained how the money would help to finance the items placed in the boxes: blankets, teddies, charms, Forget-Me-Not seeds and clay imprints. Students learned that while most of the funds are spent locally, families in other parts of the country have also benefitted from the charity.
It was a very emotional experience for everyone, with a few wet eyes in the process. The students asked lots of pertinent and appropriate questions and were very pleased that the money raised was going to such a good cause.
Thank you to all who supported their efforts to make the Christmas market such a success.
